Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved in the parish life at Church of the Holy Family. Here are a few examples and descriptions of duties.

  • Adult Formation: Join the next series of adult christian education.
  • Altar Guild: Set up the altar before one of the worship times.
  • Altar Server: Serve at the altar during worship services. ]
  • Buildings & Grounds: Help make decisions and provide support on the issues affecting the church buildings and landscaping.
  • Diocesan Convention Delegate/Alternate: The Diocesan Convention is a wonderful gathering of churches within the Diocese of Chicago. They meet every fall to to elect officers, consider legislation, hear reports from agencies and organizations, participate in learning opportunities, enjoy fellowship, and gather for common worship in daily prayer and the Convention Eucharist.
  • Fellowship Committee: Help to lead events and to ensure that members of the congregation feel welcome and included. One part of the Fellowship Committee is a note-writers committee that sends cards during times of joy and sorrow.
  • Finance: Help to discern the financial future of our church.
  • Music: Join the mighty choir and lift your voice to the Lord.
  • PADS: Volunteer to work a shift on Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.
  • Prayers of the People: Support the liturgy by writing prayers to be said during the worship services.
  • St. Margaret’s Guild: Join the ladies of the church for fellowship.
  • SE Mexico Committee: Help the Church find ways to support the Diocese of SE Mexico
  • Vestry: Volunteer as a Church Leader. The Vestry meets once a month in the evening.
  • Youth Education: Volunteer to lead or assist in a Sunday School class or with the Sunday early evening Youth Group (ages 13+).
